Edith King, LPC
The most wondrous aspect of counseling is the change that can occur from within. I believe change is necessary and can be met with resistance and fear. I am passionate about helping individuals embrace change and welcome it into their lives.
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Texas State University during which I completed a two semester long internship at the Christi Center working with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing grief and loss. After graduation I had the opportunity to work in a partial hospitalization setting with adults and adolescents struggling with eating disorders. Currently, I work with adults and adolescents seeking treatment for substance abuse. I have additional experience with those affected by mood disorders and adjustment issues.
I will strive to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic environment ideal for developing individualized goals and exploring emotions, allowing for the process of change to begin.
