I work great with...
- Young adults who want to explore their identities and emotions in a safe space where they’ll feel heard, seen and valued
- Chronically stressed high-achievers who want to overcome anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or imposter syndrome
- Folks who are looking to explore and/or change their relationship to their bodies, food and exercise
- People who are fed up with societal expectations of who they’re supposed to be and who want to get to the root of what really matters to them
- Beginners, questioners, searchers, and self described “late bloomers” of all ages and backgrounds - i.e. generally curious folks
- Athletes, fitness enthusiasts and movement lovers of all kinds who are navigating the complex mental and emotional difficulties that arise as a result of physical injury
Style & Approach
I take a non-pathologizing approach to mental wellness, meaning that I’m not here to label or “fix” you. Instead, I honor you as the expert of your own story - someone who is doing the best they can amidst the challenges of life - and approach our work together with curiosity, compassion and collaboration. Together, we’ll explore the societal, cultural, relational and environmental factors that influence your life, challenge the narratives that are no longer serving you, identify your unique strengths, values, and resources, and work on envisioning a life that’s meaningful and authentic to you while letting go of who you've been told you’re supposed to be and embracing who you are.
Some of the approaches I Use...
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Narrative Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
- Self-Compassion
- Mindfulness & Radical Acceptance
- Values Exploration & Meaning Making
- Recognizing & Cultivating Inner Strengths
- Psychoeducation about the Brain and Nervous System
- Exploring Sexuality through a Sex Positive Lens
- LGBTQIA+ Affirming
- Gentle Challenging
- Collaborative Goal Setting & Problem Solving
- Health at Every Size® and Intuitive Eating Principles
Fun Facts
Relaxing for me is all about…cuddling with my partner and my cat, alone time in nature (especially the mountains), and getting lost in a book or a song (can you tell I’m an introvert? ;) ).
I get way too excited about…frozen yogurt, ceramics, and seeing my favorite bands play live.
Self-care for me is…moving my body and lifting heavy things; finding opportunities to laugh, like watching stand up comedy; and engaging in activities that channel my inner child, like riding my bike or roller skating.
I love learning about…the neuroscience of trauma and resilience and all the ways humans can heal.
